Learning experience for "Seminar in English Language Teaching."subject.
Today we learned about "The end of CLT: a context approach to language teaching and worked in group and discussed about What is CLT?, The main goal of CLT, The advantage and disadvantage of CLT eitc. And presented in front of the class. As you know CLT consists four things:
1. Grammatical competence
2. Sociolinguistic competence
3. Discourse competence
4. Strategic competence
It focused on communication and the students can practice L2 in classroom as much as they can. In addition, some country used CLT in classroom is not always success such as Holland, Czech republic and Taiwan. However, using CLT is still popular in some country but now having a negative effect.
For today. I use my skill in English to do the group work and I could get a lot of knowledge from this class as well like the knowledge of CLT and how to apply the CLT in some context.
